Final piece progress.

As it is now coming to the end of my Foudation year and our exhibition is now open I thought now would be the time to share the progression shots of my final peice and its final outcome.



I started off with painting this in the bottom corner, un-primed,  at first i was happy with it, but on
finishing then coming back to it i realised that it was far too detailed and small to start off with.
On the next session with it i primed over the section and all the other parts of the canvas and started
from scratch. Painting on un-primed canvas was too tough and took up too much paint.   





Once I had primed over the orginal start i had done and it had dried i started again, but for this,
because i knew it would now take far more paint than i had ever expected, i came prepared with houshold
wall paint of blue, yellow, green and orange and also paint rollers, which made things alot easier,
especially when taped to bamboo sticks. Once the base coat layers and sections had been built up enough
I grabbed my acrylic paints and started adding even more layers. The idea of this peice was to

build up layers upon layers of different emotions and stories.

 

 

 



The third session on this was to fill up what i considered to be empty spaces, and for this i used
acrylics, building up more layers and also adding onto existing parts, giving them
further feeling and allowing them to tell more than just one story. Once i had got to this point
i was very happy with it and thought that i could not do anything more in order to evoke amd tell what
i wished to tell. My final peice was finished.
